Our historic ballroom sits just steps from the University of Georgia campus, The Chapel Athens, and several boutique hotels, making it one of the most convenient and iconic wedding and event venues in Athens, GA.

Every event rental at Georgian Hall includes exclusive use of the Grand Ballroom and/or Lounge, an on-site Event Manager, full-service staff (servers, bartenders, setup & cleanup crew), and all necessary amenities, including tables, Chiavari chairs, linens, dinnerware, glassware, and flatware.

You’ll also have access to in-house catering and bar services through our sister restaurant, South Kitchen + Bar, plus standard AV equipment and Wi-Fi.

Georgian Hall accommodates up to 250 guests standing, 150 for seated dinners, or 225 for station-style receptions when both rooms are combined.

The Grand Ballroom alone hosts up to 180 standing or 120 seated guests, while The Lounge offers a more intimate setting for 120 standing or 60 seated.

Our venue features two adjoining rooms connected by soundproof walnut doors: the Grand Ballroom (2,200 sq ft) with Palladian windows, chandeliers, and mosaic-tile floors, and The Lounge (1,800 sq ft) with a private bar and relaxed seating.

Rent either space separately or combine them for a 4,000-sq-ft layout that transitions beautifully between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

All events take place indoors, so rain or shine, your celebration stays comfortable within our fully climate-controlled ballroom and lounge.

Absolutely! You’re welcome to personalize the space with florals, signage, or décor elements that reflect your vision. Our team handles the setup of all venue-provided items, while outside vendors or your planner may install additional pieces with advance approval from your Venue Coordinator.

Yes. A private upstairs suite called the Club Room is available to rent separately for wedding-day preparation or VIP gathering space.

Georgian Hall does not offer a private parking lot; however, ample public parking is available within a short walk adjacent to the venue.

The Courthouse Deck and College Avenue Deck are both located less than a block away, offering convenient and cost-effective options for guests.

Metered street parking is also available nearby, and many guests enjoy walking from local hotels or arriving by rideshare.

Planning

Yes. Every event at Georgian Hall includes a dedicated Event Manager from our experienced Athens Food Group team. Your manager will oversee venue logistics, staff, and timelines to ensure everything runs smoothly from setup to last call.

Absolutely. While your Georgian Hall Event Manager will coordinate all venue and catering details, you’re welcome to bring in an outside planner or day-of coordinator to assist with personal décor, vendor communication, or overall wedding design.

Once your date is booked, our team works with you to create a customized planning timeline that includes menu selections, floor plan design, and final headcounts.

Many couples begin planning and securing their date 12–18 months in advance—especially for spring and fall weddings, which are our peak seasons.

Our busiest months are March through June and September through December, while January, February, and August are considered off-peak.

Rehearsal time can typically be added to your booking based on venue availability. If you’re also hosting your ceremony at Georgian Hall, your Event Manager will coordinate a walk-through or rehearsal time in the days leading up to your event.

All events at Georgian Hall must comply with Athens city noise ordinances, which require amplified music to end by 11:00 p.m.

Yes. All food and beverages at Georgian Hall are provided through our adjacent restaurant, South Kitchen + Bar, our exclusive catering partner for the venue. We offer a variety of service styles, including plated dinners, buffets, stations, and cocktail receptions.

Station options can include a Charcuterie Display, Shrimp & Grits Bar, and Carving Station, along with a selection of desserts such as Chocolate Panna Cotta, Mini Banana Pudding Parfaits, Cupcakes, and Gourmet Cookies.

Day Of

The venue is reserved for your event during the time period specified in your final Event Summary, beginning with guest arrival and ending with guest departure. We guarantee venue access to you and any outside vendors at least two hours before your celebration’s start time.

After your event, all personal décor and outside vendor equipment must be removed as quickly as possible, with two hours being the maximum amount of cleanup time allowed post-event.

Your rental duration is based on the time block specified in your Event Summary, which outlines your agreed-upon access, event, and cleanup periods.

Yes. Georgian Hall, South Kitchen + Bar, and parent company Athens Food Group maintain all required licenses and liability coverage.

All events at Georgian Hall must comply with Athens city ordinance, which requires amplified music to end by 11:00 p.m. The official end time for your event will be outlined in your Event Summary, based on the rental period agreed upon in your contract.

The first step is to complete the inquiry form on our website with your event details. A member of our sales team will respond with pricing and availability and help you schedule a tour.

After your visit, you’ll receive a customized proposal outlining details, menu options, and estimated charges. Your date is officially reserved once you’ve signed the Agreement for Services and submitted your initial deposit.

Yes. A deposit is required to secure your date and finalize your booking. The deposit amount and due date will be detailed in your Agreement for Services.

Your deposit is due at the time of booking, when you sign your agreement.

Our proposals include food and beverage, service, and room rental, along with all standard state and local taxes. Pricing varies based on your event style, duration, and guest count.

A 20% service charge is applied to all food and beverage totals to cover full staffing—including setup and cleanup—so every part of your celebration runs smoothly. All charges are subject to state and local sales tax, currently at 8%.

The timeline for your final payment will be outlined in your Agreement for Services and coordinated directly with your Venue Coordinator during the planning process.
